Returnal is a personal time machine—an album rooted in the swirling analog warmth of '70s electronica. It’s a continuation of my previous album Homeward, but this time the journey leads even deeper into memory—into the heart of my childhood growing up in 1980s Poland.
Starting with the 16-minute opener Returnal, the album sets a meditative tone, slowly unfolding like a dream you’re not sure you’re ready to wake from. Tracks like Fading Summer Glow and Czerkaska Street capture fleeting moments—sunlight through a window, the sound of distant traffic, the feeling of being young and full of questions.
Bydgoszcz Lesna is named after the neighborhood where I spent much of my childhood—an ode to concrete apartment blocks, forests at the edge of town, and late-night walks under orange sodium lights. 80s Poland distills an entire era into five minutes: analog noise, hope behind the Iron Curtain, and the quiet rebellion of imagination.
With First Plane Ride, I remember the awe of leaving home for the first time, and in Follower, I explore the feeling of looking back—at the people, places, and Tangerine Dream, Pink Floyd music that shaped me.
This album is for anyone who’s ever felt the strange pull of the past—and the comfort of analog synthesizers humming in the dark. Enjoy.
