✨ My Story — Why I Chose Music Over a High-Powered Career

Caught In Joy (Karol Pokojowczyk) is a multi-instrumentalist based in Florida, passionately dedicated to live composing, hardware synthesizers, and tape recording - a completely independent music project. I strive to create four albums and visual performances every month, entirely by myself.

I Quit My Day Job to Focus Fully on Music

I started my professional life as a software engineer and later became a serial entrepreneur, with a few successes along the way.
After more than 30 years of working, I saved enough to fund my dream: building a home studio where I could finally focus fully on music.

80+ Albums Released in Just Three Years

Three years ago, I made the leap — I left my day job behind and have since independently produced and released over 80 albums on Caught In Joy's Bandcamp, and over 30 long-form releases on my Bandcamp Collections page, receiving an amazing response from listeners around the world. 

A Lot Of My Albums Now Available on YouTube

I began recording everything live on video and optimized my creative process to produce up to four full-length albums and visual performances every month, which I now release on YouTube.

Every single album and video you see on Youtube is a labor of love. I know it might look simple or quick (he's just jamming) but there is actually over 40 hours of work on a single album / video. From prep to performing live, recording on tape and multitrack, mixing on two analog consoles, editing, syncing, camera splits, color grading, mastering, product deliverables and packaging. It's all one man army.

While the project is growing, it's still not enough to fully cover the costs of living and maintaining my studio. 

There’s a common belief that musicians or YouTubers make a lot of money. In reality, in 99% of cases, we don’t — we struggle to sustain it. Without support, projects like this simply can’t continue long-term.
