Moonland is a night drive that never quite arrives.
Instrumental, guitar-driven electronica built somewhere between Berlin School repetition and cinematic atmosphere. Wide horizons. Slow pulses. Signals in the distance.
There are echoes of Vangelis in the scale, David Gilmour in the emotional guitar lines, Manuel Göttsching in the hypnotic movement, and a subtle industrial tension in the shadows. Jazztronica textures drift under the surface. Tribal rhythms appear like headlights in fog.
Built with real instruments, real hands, and a preference for atmosphere over perfection.
Caught In Joy is playing Moog One, Moog Model D, Moog Matriarch, Moog Messenger, Sequential Prophet-10, Fender Telecaster and Martin acoustic guitars, Akai MPC Live 3, Key37 and modular synths. Recorded on two TEAC 80-8 tape machines. Mixed on two TEAC Model 5 from the 70s.
