Inspired by the spirit of Tangerine Dream and Vangelis, Midnight Was A Color Once is a continuous 50-minute analog journey recorded live in my home studio.
Captured to TEAC 80-8 tape and mixed through two TEAC Model 5 analog consoles, this album unfolds slowly – cinematic, spacey, and deeply rooted in 70s electronic music.
Moog synths, Rhodes, drifting guitars, and modular pulses form a non-stop, drum-less night journey meant to be heard in one sitting.
Now includes a bonus suite "An Astronaut Who Forgot Her Name".
"While I was working on Midnight Was A Color Once, there was one idea that kept following me around – “An Astronaut Who Forgot Her Name.” It was only ever a short piece, about 13 minutes, so it was never going to be an album title. Still, I carried it with me. After the album came out, I couldn’t shake it. It kept playing in my head. That feeling of leaving everything behind, slowly, gently – even the things that usually define you.
So this Saturday, just now, I gave myself a full day with it. No pressure, no expectations, no thinking about releases or comparisons. I just played and listened.
